When Screen Printing Is the Right Choice

Also known as silk screen printing, the process pushes ink through a fine mesh screen, one screen per colour. Each colour carries its own screen and its own setup, and that is what shapes the economics. A one colour logo on 500 polo shirts is extremely economical. A six colour logo on 20 shirts is not. That is why our minimum for this method is 100 pieces, while embroidery starts at 10.

Choose screen printing when

  • You are ordering 100 pieces or more
  • Your logo has one to four flat colours
  • Garments are cotton or poly cotton
  • The print must survive repeated commercial laundering
  • You want the lowest possible cost per unit

Consider another method when

  • Your run is under 100 pieces, where DTF usually costs less
  • Artwork contains photographs or gradients
  • The garment is dark 100 percent polyester, see below
  • Every garment needs an individual name or number

How We Print Your Order

01

Artwork and colour separation

We separate your logo into one film per colour and match each ink to your Pantone reference.

02

Screen preparation

Each film is exposed onto a mesh screen coated with light sensitive emulsion, then washed out to open the print area.

03

Printing and curing

Ink is pressed through each screen in sequence, then cured at high temperature so it bonds permanently into the fibres.

04

Check and delivery

Every garment is checked against your approved sample before packing, then delivered across all seven emirates.

Print Placement and Sizing

Our largest press prints up to A2, which is 420 by 594 mm, and that covers every standard uniform placement including a full back. These are the sizes we work to unless your brand guidelines say otherwise, and we confirm exact positions on your digital mock up before anything goes to press.

Standard sizes

  • Left chest: 75 to 100 mm wide
  • Right chest: 60 to 80 mm wide
  • Full back: 250 to 300 mm wide
  • Sleeve: 50 to 75 mm wide

Placement notes

  • Left chest aligns with the second button, roughly 180 to 200 mm below the shoulder seam
  • Back prints stay clear of reflective bands on high visibility garments
  • Sleeve prints sit 80 to 100 mm below the shoulder seam
  • Text under 5 mm tall can close up, so we advise a larger minimum

The Dye Migration Problem Most Suppliers Do Not Mention

On 100 percent polyester garments, particularly red and navy, the fabric dye turns to gas under the heat of the curing tunnel and bleeds up into the ink. A white print slowly turns pink over the following weeks. It is not a fault you can see on delivery day, which is exactly why it reaches so many customers.

We counter it with low bleed inks and a blocking underbase, and we tell you before production if your garment and colour combination carries the risk. Where that risk is high, DTF or sublimation is the more honest recommendation, and we will say so rather than take the order.

Screen Printing in Dubai, Sharjah and Across the UAE

Our screen printing runs from our own factory on Beirut Street, Industrial Area 2, Ajman, and we deliver to all seven emirates. Manufacturing outside the Dubai free zones is what keeps our per unit pricing below a reseller quote. Bulk orders for Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah ship on the same schedule as local Ajman orders, 3 to 4 days under 100 pieces and 3 to 7 days on bulk runs.

Screen Printing FAQs

What is the minimum order for screen printing?

Our minimum for this method is 100 pieces. Below 100 the setup cost per garment climbs sharply, and DTF printing will usually work out cheaper. We will tell you which is better value for your quantity rather than pushing you to the higher minimum.

How much does screen printing cost per shirt?

Pricing runs on two variables: the number of colours in your logo and the quantity you order. Each colour needs its own screen and setup, so the cost per garment falls sharply as quantity rises. Send us your artwork and quantity for a firm quote.

How long does screen printing take?

Orders under 100 pieces are produced in 3 to 4 days. Bulk runs of around 1,000 pieces take 3 to 7 days, and we can turn an urgent order around in 3 days on express.

Can you screen print on polyester?

Yes, using low bleed inks and a blocking underbase. On dark polyester, especially red and navy, there is a genuine dye migration risk where the garment dye bleeds into the print over the following weeks. Where that risk is high we recommend DTF or sublimation instead.

Screen printing or DTF, which is better?

Quantity is the deciding factor. Above 100 pieces with a simple flat colour logo, this method gives the lowest cost per garment. Under 100 pieces, or for artwork with photographs and gradients, DTF is the better choice.

How large can you print?

Our largest press handles prints up to A2, which is 420 by 594 mm. That comfortably covers full back placements as well as standard left chest and sleeve positions.

Do you print on garments we supply?

Yes. We screen print customer supplied garments as well as uniforms we manufacture ourselves in Ajman.

What artwork file do you need?

Vector files are best: AI, EPS, PDF, SVG or CDR. If you only have a raster file, send it at 300 DPI at final print size, ideally a PNG with a transparent background. Include Pantone references where you have them so we can match ink colours.
