Why Team Kit Is Sublimated, Not Printed

Custom sports jerseys are sublimated for one reason: every other decoration method charges you per colour and per name. Sublimation does not. The dye is printed individually for each garment and bonded into the polyester fibre, so a twelve colour design costs the same as a two colour one, and giving every player a different name and number adds no setup at all.

Sports jerseys also have to survive the season. There is no ink layer sitting on the surface, so nothing cracks, peels or lifts at the numbers, and the kit adds no weight or stiffness to a lightweight jersey. Read how sublimation printing works.

Design freedom

Gradients, photographic detail, sponsor logos and edge to edge patterns are all possible at one flat price. Club crests do not need simplifying to keep costs down.

Squad personalisation

Every shirt can carry a different name and number without a setup charge, which is why sublimation suits squads rather than bulk identical runs.

The one limit

Sublimation only works on light coloured polyester. For cotton training tees or dark garments we use DTF instead, and we will say so rather than promise something the chemistry will not do.

What to Send Us for a Kit Order

Four things get a kit quoted accurately: your design or club crest as a vector file, any sponsor logos, a squad list with names and numbers in a spreadsheet, and your Pantone colour references. If you only have a rough idea, our team will lay the design out for you.

We confirm everything on a digital mock up before printing. Approve the mock up rather than a screen preview, because monitor colour never matches fabric exactly. For school and club programmes, tell us the season dates and we will work back from them.

What is the minimum order for custom sports jerseys?

Sublimation suits small squads as well as full club programmes. Send us your squad size and design and we will quote it directly rather than turning you away for being under a threshold.

How long does a custom kit take to produce?

Orders under 100 pieces are produced in 3 to 4 days once the mock up is approved, with bulk squad runs at 3 to 7 days, and we run up to 1,000 pieces a day. Allow extra time at the start for design layout if you are not supplying finished artwork.

Will the numbers crack or peel after a season?

Not with sublimation. The dye bonds into the fibre rather than sitting on top as a layer, so there is nothing to crack or lift. Numbers applied as vinyl on non sublimated garments are the ones that fail over a season.

Can you print on cotton training shirts?

Not with sublimation, which only bonds to light coloured polyester. For cotton tees or dark garments we use DTF printing instead, which handles full colour artwork on almost any fabric.

Do you supply school PE kit and inter house teams?

Yes, and school programmes are worth planning around the academic year. Confirm colours and design once, and reorders in following years reuse the same setup.
