Uniform Customization: Printing, Embroidery & Branding
Your logo is the reason a uniform exists. How that logo is applied decides whether it still looks sharp after six months of industrial laundering — or peels off in the first fortnight. MRG Uniforms decorates in-house at our Ajman factory using six methods: embroidery, screen printing, DTF, DTG, sublimation and heat-transfer vinyl. Embroidery starts at 10 pieces, most orders ship in 3–4 days, and we run 1,000 pieces a day through embroidery and sublimation. Because we manufacture and decorate under one roof, your branding goes onto garments we cut and sew ourselves. No third-party handoff, and no finger-pointing when a colour comes back wrong.
Which Customization Method Is Right for You?
The honest answer is that no method wins on everything. Each trades one advantage for another.

The short version: embroidery for anything that needs to look professional and survive heavy washing. Sublimation for sportswear. DTF when you need full colour on a small run. Screen printing when you're ordering in the hundreds.
Our Six Customization Methods
Screen Printing
Ink pushed through a fine mesh screen, one screen per colour. Each colour needs its own screen and its own setup, so a one-colour logo on 500 polo shirts is extremely economical — and a six-colour logo on 20 shirts is not.
Screen printing sits best on cotton and poly-cotton. On 100% polyester, particularly in red and navy garments, you run into dye migration: the garment’s own dye turns to gas under the heat press and bleeds up into the ink, so a white print gradually turns pink. We counter this with low-bleed inks and a blocking underbase, but it’s a real constraint and one many suppliers discover only after delivery.
DTF Printing (Direct to Film)
The most flexible method we run. Artwork is printed onto film with a white underbase, bonded with adhesive powder, then heat-pressed onto the garment.
DTF has no screens, so no setup cost per colour and no meaningful minimum. It handles photographs, gradients and fine detail, and it adheres to fabrics that defeat other methods — polyester, blends, and technical performance cloth. The trade-off is hand-feel: you can feel a DTF transfer sitting on the fabric in a way you cannot with sublimation.
It’s the right answer for short runs, sample garments, event apparel and any logo too complex for thread.
DTG Printing (Direct to Garment)
An inkjet printer applying water-based ink straight into the fibres. The hand-feel is exceptionally soft, but DTG only performs on 100% cotton, and dark garments require pre-treatment.
Since most workwear is poly-cotton for durability, DTG has a narrower role here than in the fashion T-shirt trade — we recommend it mainly for cotton promotional tees and retail-feel merchandise.
Sublimation Printing
Dye is converted to gas and bonded into polyester fibres. There is no layer sitting on the fabric — nothing to crack, peel or fade, and zero added weight or stiffness. It is the only method that genuinely lasts the life of the garment.
Two hard rules: it works only on polyester, and only on white or light fabric. You cannot sublimate a navy shirt or a cotton one.
Within those rules it’s unbeatable for sportswear. Full-garment, edge-to-edge, seam-to-seam designs are possible, along with individual player names and numbers at no extra setup cost — which is why every serious football, cricket and cycling kit is sublimated.
Heat Transfer & Vinyl (HTV)
Coloured vinyl cut to shape, weeded by hand, and heat-pressed on. Perfect for names, numbers, sizes and simple solid-colour marks. Not suited to detailed or multi-colour artwork.
Two specialist vinyls matter in the UAE market: reflective vinyl for night-shift and roadside visibility, and glow vinyl for emergency and event applications.

What's the minimum order for custom uniforms?
Our standard minimum order quantity is 10 pieces for custom uniforms. For embroidery and screen printing, the standard MOQ is also 10 pieces. DTF and vinyl printing can be used for smaller quantities, including samples and limited runs, subject to garment and production requirements.
Can you print my logo on uniforms I already own?
Yes. We can decorate customer-supplied garments as well as uniforms purchased from MRG Uniforms. Customer-supplied garments should be clean and suitable for the selected decoration method. We recommend confirming the garment fabric, quantity, and condition before production. No fixed minimum applies to customer-supplied garments; minimums depend on the decoration method and job requirements.
Which method lasts longest?
Sublimation offers excellent durability because the dye becomes part of the polyester fabric rather than sitting on top of it. However, it is primarily suitable for light-coloured polyester garments. For other garment types, embroidery is generally one of the most durable branding options. Screen printing and heat-transfer methods can also provide good durability when the correct materials and application process are used.
Will my logo survive industrial laundering?
Yes, when the appropriate decoration method and materials are selected. Quality polyester-thread embroidery and properly produced sublimation offer excellent durability. Screen printing and transfers can also withstand regular washing, but repeated high-temperature commercial or industrial laundering can reduce their lifespan. For demanding industrial environments, we recommend selecting the branding method based on the garment, wash temperature, chemicals, and laundering process.
Can you match my exact brand colours?
We can match your branding to the closest available thread, ink, or print colour using your Pantone reference or approved artwork. A digital mock-up is provided for confirmation before production. Because different materials and printing or embroidery processes reproduce colours differently, an exact physical match cannot always be guaranteed, but we aim for the closest practical match.
How long does customization take?
Our standard production lead time is approximately 7–15 business days, depending on the order quantity, garment type, customization requirements, artwork approval, and material availability. Express production may be possible for selected orders depending on current production capacity and requirements.
Do you deliver outside Ajman?
Yes. We deliver across all seven emirates of the UAE, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah. We also provide international shipping for customers outside the UAE.
